But that's the thing - has anyone other than Meghan actually called this racist? I haven't seen that even on Twitter.

My wife is Asian, before our daughter was born people did ask who we thought she would take after, never at any point did i or my wife take offence! Mind you it was over 25 years ago, if it happened today i would be calling the police................

"Like most things it would have been better for the Royals to deal with this when it first arose and shut it down by rubbishing the claims and saying it was a perfectly innocent comment by the Duke of xxxxxxxx or Princess xxxxxx or whoever it was."

I'm not sure this would have been accepted by the rent-a-mob crew (who've moved on to Gaza now) when all this came out. Wasn't it right slap bang in the middle of their BLM crusade?

Oh what an absolutely shitshiw of a media we have. It's officially revealed our government lied shamelessly about putting a protective ring around care homes and put the most vulnerable at risk, and our media have this all.over their front covers. Of course I mean they wouldn't want the elderly knowing the party they are most likely to vote for don't give a flying shit about them.
What disgrace.
As for Harry & Meghan I have run out of fucks to give.Sorry.

It's inconceivable that this should be considered racist.... unless the opinion that a particular skin tone might be a problem was expressed.

Re: Royal racism row
I can't stand the Royals. I can't stand Harry and Meghan. Having said that, the rank hypocrisy of the latter is astounding. They complain constantly about racism (and it may well be accurate) and then in an interview that I hadn't seen before, that was shown last night on the news, Harry was saying that they'd never accused the Royal Family of racism. It was bizarre.

And as someone with mixed race kids if one of my family had speculated on what skin tone they'd be, it wouldn't have bothered me. Why would it?

Re: Royal racism row
Harry has for his whole life been the subject of speculation - much of it very cruel - regarding his parentage, due to the colour of his HAIR.

It would be incredibly irresponsible for Harry and Meghan and the rest of the family not to consider the colour of their child's skin and what implications it might have for their public life. Because they can take steps to minimise it.

Harry must see this. So either he is being very silly, or perhaps the conversations were not just to do with the welfare of the child, and maybe they did have a more racist nature.

I think its right that nobody gives a shit about this ..... apart from various professional victims who will be queuing up to be offended because someone made an innocent enquiry about a BABY
That said the tabloids will squeeze this for all its worth and must thank their lucky stars that they have the crazed loons Harold & Markle to generate headlines for them

It will drag on until the name/s come out
Like most things it would have been better for the Royals to deal with this when it first arose and shut it down by rubbishing the claims and saying it was a perfectly innocent comment by the Duke of xxxxxxxx or Princess xxxxxx or whoever it was.
I think the general public opinion is that Mr & Mrs Sussex are a pair of deranged cunts so would have sided with the Royals

You can be sure Markle is looking for another wealthy mug after she divorces poor Harry and sues for child maintenance for the next 15 years or so.
Then Harry can come back to a happier life dressed as a Nazi with his old mates in London.

I've not met a single person in the real world who gives a flying fuck about this alleged comment, but are far more concerned at the amount of coverage it gets on the front and website landing pages of MSM. Like there's nothing more important than such a question.

If I was a cynic (heaven forbid!) I could easily get the impression that what is happening here is shit-stiring by the book publishers/MSM for the sole purpose of increasing revenue, and fuck the consequences to all initially involved.

Re: Royal racism row
I don't think the issue is "in today's day and age" here, I think it's more certain people trying to smear others - thereby staying relevant and hopefully saleable. I can't say I've asked any non-white people but I really don't think they'd be ofended by wondering about the skin tone of the kids. As I said, my "coloured" ex talked about it all the time.

If what was said was worse than that then fair play.

Re: Royal racism row
Its comparable to a father with Brown Eyes and the Mother with Blue eyes speculating on what colour eyes the unborn child may have, or colours of hair or whether their hair will be curly or straight. Any situation where you have a distinctly different physical characteristic between parents will always lead to speculation or interest in what the result of combining those genetics will result in.
But no, in today's day and age its gotta be racist.

48 years ago when my relatives, friends, wife relatives and friends were all discussing what colour my and my indian wife's baby would be, I did not realise they were all being racist.

Fucking stupid non story.

Re: Royal racism row
Wondering what shade a mixed race baby will be is not racist, it's perfectly normal and natural talking point.
That those dummies Megan & Harry have made such a big issue out of it tells you all you need to know about them!

The author who looks like a bit of a ladyboy says he wrote in ENGLISH and the Dutch translation was the work of the publishers
Not sure how if a name that wasnt in the maunscript appears in translation
Sounds like a clever PR stunt really as it seems to have created much more publicity

Who was the person querying the TINT of ARCHIE?
And who names a child rather than a dog Archie?

I'm sure it doesn't need saying, but, do not put the name in this thread.

Re: Royal racism row
This is a funny one. My ex is a South African 'coloured' girl with a complexion similar to Meghan. She was forever on about what colour our children would be, given the variety of ways it could have gone. She'd discuss it with her sisters/friends.

It annoys me that it's being made into a 'thing' because it doesn't have to be. They are different ethnicities - they will have children who won't look the same as his family. It's not racist to discuss that.

There could be more context than I'm aware of, of course.
